Ibanguy - Twisted Fate

Dear friends,

Ibanguy has recorded a single called "Twisted Fate" and you can listen to the full song at this link. (http://www.myspace.com/canowyte)

History: This song was written 10 years ago and it came out of the dark with the availability of internet tools such as Myspace.com, Blogspot.com and the cool software called Audacity. Its all free and we should take full advantage of it.By the way, the lyrics were tweaked to make the song more relevant to the times. You can download the song if you want but the copyright remains with me.Enjoy it.

Lyrics below:

TWISTED FATE

IT’S FUNNY HOW, I’M SITTING HERE WITH OUR FRIENDS
WATCHING YOU THERE, AND I AM HERE
EVERYONE’S LAUGHING, ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
WAITING FOR THE TIME TO GIVE YOU CHEERS WITH OUR WINE

I REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE FRIENDS, LONG TIME BEFORE
SHARING ALL THE PAIN,
HOPING WHAT WE HAVE,
COULD LEAD TO SOMETHING MORE…..

I AM NOT WITH YOU NOW
SOMEHOW FATE IS TWISTED
OUR LIFE IS NOT FATED
I AM NOT WITH YOU NOW
SOMEONE ELSE IS TAKING MY PLACE ….. TODAY

GOOD TO KNOW, YOU HAVE MET A NEW SOUL
YOU HAVE A NEW HOPE
AND WITH SOMEONE TO GROW OLD
COULD NEVER IMAGINE, IT COMES TO THIS DAY
YOU LOOK THE OTHER WAY, NOTHING LEFT TO SAY

I REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE FRIENDS, LONG TIME BEFORE
SHARING ALL THE PAIN,
HOPING WHAT WE HAVE,
COULD LEAD TO SOMETHING MORE…..

I AM NOT WITH YOU NOW
SOMEHOW FATE IS TWISTED
OUR LIFE IS NOT FATED
I AM NOT WITH YOU NOW
SOMEONE ELSE IS TAKING MY PLACE ….. TODAY

SOLO GUITAR

I REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE FRIENDS, LONG TIME BEFORE
SHARING ALL THE PAIN,
HOPING WHAT WE HAVE,
COULD LEAD TO SOMETHING MORE…..

I AM NOT WITH YOU NOW
SOMEHOW FATE IS TWISTED
OUR LIFE IS NOT FATED
I AM NOT WITH YOU NOW
SOMEONE ELSE IS TAKING MY PLACE ….. TODAY

Aww babe... it's touching, and fresh. And you waited 10 years to release it for public consumption? (thanks to blog freedom..) Is that really you singing? You're awesome! but u could be better i believe.

you know i wrote few pieces myself when I was in college, more free time then, but now i cant find the recorded cassettes. now my nails are getting longer and i know if i started picking up my guitar, id bleed my fingertips and will take days to heal. im that out of practice...

Dude, listening to it now. Nice. Makes me want to pick up my guitar and start writing songs and record on my GarageBand. Well done, mate. Don't mean to be picky but you could lower the reverb on the vocals a bit. Apart from that, very fresh as ladydin mentioned.

Ladylin, thanks for the tip.Its never too late to pick up your guitar and make a song.Guitars nowadays are affordable and they are easy on the fingers.

Keydam, I agree it has too much echo. Plan to remix it since Chris Pereira is in town.Chris is Vincent's son and he is the resident sound engineer with RAM records. Can't wait to listen to your 1st song man....Josh, your son will be a good song material you know.

A 44-key keyboard is a good idea if you wanna mix some other sounds onto your track. Since ur wife has a Mac, try the GarageBand program. Audacity looks very much like it with the added advantage of already having a myriad of instruments you can use on the keyboard. You can also use the computer keyboard to play one octave. Beyond that u need to go up or down the octaves.

The sound it produces is quite believable and doesn't sound too synthesized even if you record saxophone sound using the keyboard.

Oh i got my guitar alright, it's time and concentration i dont have right now. but you go on ahead and write an album-full. :-) im sure uve got the stuff for it, you just need a bit more roughening on the edges, like Keydam said.
